IF so what are your thoughts? Is it a solid enough science course or do feel you need to add? Or is it too much and one that should wait until Jr/Sr high?
Middle ds is doing S & S and really enjoying it --but he's recently indicated that he might want to look into the field of Criminal Justice/forensics. When he said that a light bulb went off and I thought of this program. We had planned ot do BJU's 6th grade science w/ him next year (I already have it from dd and think it's a really good program) --but we might try to do this instead.

Hi - am not using the program, but am using one of the books as aprt of our life science program - Glad Scientist. Thumbs up for understanding the human body. I would add a good body model - DS has learned a lot from referencing that as we study each organ. So there is an endorsement for a component at least! jam

I have the books for both programs and I would say it is definitely enough for 6th grade. My ds is 16 and fascinated by forensics and is really enjoying the books. I am not following the guide, though (my schedule is included in the Quest for the Middle Ages). We are simply going through one book at a time. The Detective Science book was a good starting point for ds, even though it was a little easy for him he still enjoyed it.
I found it was easy to search for the specific topic we are studying to find additional resources online (videos, activities, etc) like this FBI KIDS link, for example. You may want to check into the Crime Scene Investigations book from the 7-12 program. IMO, it is very doable for a 6th grader, especially one interested in forensics (and the experiments/activities are excellent). I bought my copy on half.com for less than $10 shipped. Cindy

This program does look great for a 6th grader. I wanted to use it with my 4th and 7th grader, but my younger has expressed great horror and studying anything to do with human biology! (I guess I wait on that one!)
I'm planning on this with my 7th grader next year. She's really looking forward to it. I have The Body Book already, but that's listed in the 4-6 grades. Would it add to the program at all, or would this be silly for a 7th grader to do?
