Yay!!! My dd is asking to read some of the history books, do the gold panning, and work in her grammar book already. I can tell this is a better fit for us that last year. We won't be starting until September and I don't have about half of our WP order yet. But, this is a good sign. She seemed a little bothered that these books weren't just for her, but for her brother too. They haven't done school together before. I pray it is a huge blessing (one that she didn't expect) so that we can continue this way.
Just felt like sharing my joy.

happy day for you. i love box days. they are great. and i spend lots of time trying keep my kids from going through the books until we start school.
my DS wants to do the gold panning too, but wants to do the spy kit even more. he's liking it so far and its one the 2nd week. we are covering things her likes.
hope you have a great year.

Thanks so much! You too! :)
Now, I need some advice on how to organize the kid's work.

Isn't box day grand! DS loves the WP books. He loves to flip thru them before school has begun! Since he is doing some topics the second cycle through (like this year, American Culture, last time American Story 1/2), i actually put the books on the same shelf - just interweave the sets so that they are organized by timeperiod. He often goes back and re-reads the old books. Great review!
As far as organization, i buy a barnes and noble teacher's planner and write up 36 weekly plans so i can integrate all the subjects. I also have the 36 weeks of WP pages, and all handouts etc in 36 file folders. Each week, i pull a folder and use the planner.
