We've had a very interesting week. DD began her cycle this year, and in the first 2-3 years I expect it to be very irregular, however, I didn't expect dd to have her flow for 20something days:eek: She is fortunate as there have been no cramps and headaches the entire time, and she hasn't been weak or tired, in fact she's been very active. So it's mainly been a huge annoyance for her.
But it seemed wise to get her to the ped to check her iron, which turned out to be normal. Then she was also due for her check-up, which involved vaccinations, and her ADD check-up in order to continue her meds. This was actually acheived in 2 visits to the ped. this week. But then they also wanted her seen by a GYN. That was the 3rd appt. this week. Everything is fine, but dd has to be put on provera to try to regulate things for the next few months, then all should be as normal as a pre-teen cycle can be.
This mainly involved being on the road a lot this week, so I'm sure you see something glaringly missing from the week, school. It got done, but just the basics. On Monday we will be commensing Week 7 for the 3rd time.
We did manage to try something new, a math program called ALEKS, we were able to get a free months trial. It's an online AI program. DD seems to like it, and it has shown a few gaps in areas I thought she had mastered, so in that way it's been very helpful. You can check in out at www.aleks.com. Here's the site to sign up for a free month http://www.aleks.com/webform/homeschool_request
The best thing about the week was that Dh and dd's marching band actually marched last night at half-time for the Georgia Force High School football team. It was so exciting, the crowd really responded to the kids. The band is only 10 strong this year, but we're hoping to see this program grow next year due to the exposure at the games.
Oh, and we did watch some of Egypt's Golden Empire after reading about Hatshepsut and Thutmose III. We are really enjoying this video.
